NUFC Midfielder To Miss Games

NUFC Midfielder To Miss Games

After yesterday's hard earned point in the 1-1 draw against Liverpool, one of our players was reported to be pulling out of international duty.

That player is Matt Ritchie who now wont be heading off with Scotland for their crucial World Cup games against Slovakia and Slovenia.

Whilst there is no official injury specified and it being reported on Sky Sports as a precaution, I noticed yesterday that something wasn't right.

Late on and attacking the Gallowgate end, Ritchie seemed to get winded as the ball looked like it was struck firmly into his family allowance and he went down soon after.

There was no relevance to it mentioned in the after match reports and it wasn't shown on the highlights packages but it happened.

Precautionary or not, Scotland go into the business end of the qualifiers knowing that two wins will guarantee a play off spot, so Ritchie's withdrawal may be more than has been reported. We'll see.
