American Defender Gives Credit

American Defender Gives Credit

Newcastle's USA defender Deandre Yedlin returned in Saturday's win over Stoke and was in the mood for praise.

The pacey right back who gives us an extra dimension was complimentary to his other squad members by saying that the fact that everyone is working with the same mentality, gives us an advantage.

Yedlin even predicting that being together will take the team a very long way and who would argue.

Speaking on the official Newcastle website, Yedlin said:

Our team spirit is great right now and I think that`s a continuation of last year. If we can continue that and stick together, then I think we`ll do great this year.

It`s one of the things the gaffer talked about before the game, we have to show team spirit and get the fans behind us. Even when Stoke tied it up, we kept fighting and the fans got louder and louder and eventually we got the winning goal.

Continuing with his mind set of giving out credit, Yedlin has also praised the medical staff at Newcastle for how they've sorted his injury out.

He said: Sometimes, it can be a little bit scary to go out and sprint and jump and do those athletic sorts of things, but I thought I was fine today. I think the medical staff have done a great job with me, so credit to them for getting me back fit and healthy. I`m looking to push forward from here.
