Left Back Expected To Leave A NUFC Side Needing A Left Back

Achraf Lazaar looks to be nearing the exit door at Newcastle.

The Moroccan left back signed under the stewardship of Rafa Benitez just a year ago but according to local paper The Shields Gazette, he is nearing the end of his career.

Lazaar has released some stuff on his instagram account that seems to back up the theory by being pictured in Italy with what he calls his 'agents' amid talk of a loan deal being discussed there.

Hardly having a chance here with just 4 championship appearances mixed with another 5 cup games, something just doesn't add up about him.

We're desperate for a left back at present with Paul Dummett being injured and the position being one that needs some work done on it but with Lazaar signing a 5 year deal last year, that doesn't seem to fit in with the Benitez philosophy of scouting players long term.

If anything, it smacks of a player that was recommended to the club and Rafa has agreed to have a look with things going pear shaped.

With Lazaar spending all of his career prior to Newcastle in Italy, it looks like he's still well thought of over there and a deal should go through soon it seems.
