Newcastle TV Games Switch Forgets Loyalty

Newcastle TV Games Switch Forgets Loyalty

So the latest batch of games on TV were released and Newcastle featured quite heavily again.

Three of our October and November games being selected for live telly to make it 8 games selected out of the first 14 games.

Southampton away, which was to be played on Saturday 14th October has now been moved a day back to the Sunday with a 4 o clock start for Sky TV and a middle of the night return for the loyal travellers with a day off work probably having to be taken to manage it..

The away game at Burnley, jokingly our closest rivals and shortest distance to travel for those going from Tyneside is now moved to an unsociable Monday night football slot on Sky. Moving from the Saturday 28th October to Monday the 30th.

The last change is not too bad considering as it's only a 2 and a half hour change with the game at Man Utd changed from 3pm to 5:30pm on Saturday 18th November. This being BT Sports first airing of us this season.

Forgetting trying to sell the premier league abroad, it's about time the powers that be realised that the game is only what it is now with the loyal fans that have stuck with their clubs over the years and not the plastic fans that get attached from elsewhere.

For us, moving away games to our longest journeys is beyond a joke with Swansea, Southampton and Brighton away all on TV on days when returning home will clash with the next work day for starters.
