Rafa Admits Frustration

Whilst it's been a Summer of anticipation as to what sort of signings Rafa Benitez could attract, it has also been a frustrating one with it not going to the script so far.

This frustration has been shared by Rafa Benitez will almost daily stories saying he's on the brink of walking out before another is released saying he's committed to the task.

Today at the premier league launch, Rafa Benitez spoke to various media outlets and admitted his issues with many aspects but fell just short of criticising individuals.

On Sky, Rafa said: When I decided to stay it`s because for me it`s a challenge.

For me, I`m not totally happy with what we did but I will try to do my best, working very hard with people at the club to try and improve what we have at the moment.

My Chinese is not good enough. Now I try to do my best now. At the moment I am fully committed to do the best that I can do now.

The main frustration stems from Mike Ashley and his running of the club. We know how he works having had him here for 10 years in that his interests come first and the club isn't run to it's potential of being the very best it can be.

The countless twisting media stories dont help either with far too many 'in the know' characters saying their piece and the budget we supposedly had pencilled in for transfers has always been built on guess work.

There can never be any trust for Ashley here at Newcastle and with him being a billionaire, there can never really be any excuse for him not to be able to get his hands on any extra money or change a policy in order for us to be able to complete a deal but his persistence in sticking with a failed policy could just be as damaging in the future.

We know the club had a massive income drop for playing last season in the championship but without any real speculative cash going on a gamble then next season could see the income drop again with a return.

Mike Ashley doesn't seem to move away from his policies though and for his idea of a club to wipe it's own nose will mean that any big money signings wont be done this season and may not be next season either because the more players we need, the more the cash has to be spread around.

So until we get into a position of power or having a squad that is competitive, the dreams can be put on hold. For now though, Rafa is hanging around to try his best.
