Newcastle Head To Ireland For The Week

Newcastle Head To Ireland For The Week

Newcastle confirmed earlier that a 27 strong squad has went to Ireland again for a bit of a training camp.

With just four weeks to go until our premier league season opener against Spurs, Rafa Benitez has opted for familiar surroundings to mix training and team building for a few days at Carton House.

According to the official Newcastle website, they reckon that the team will train twice a day as well as bond in various tasks.

The 27 of the squad who have went to County Kildare are:

Karl Darlow, Rob Elliot, Freddie Woodman, Ciaran Clark, Paul Dummett, Jesus Gamez, Massadio Haidara, Grant Hanley, Jamaal Lascelles, Florian Lejeune, Jamie Sterry, DeAndre Yedlin, Rolando Aarons, Christian Atsu, Jack Colback, Mohamed Diame, Victor Fernandez, Isaac Hayden, Matt Ritchie, Henri Saivet, Jonjo Shelvey, Callum Roberts, Siem De Jong, Dwight Gayle, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Daryl Murphy and Ayoze Perez.

Senior players missing out include Tim Krul who will surely be available for a loan now, Emmanuel Riviere and Achraf Lazaar who have been well documented as not featuring in Rafa's plans, Chancel Mbemba who has supposedly got visa issues and Adam Armstrong who is said to be close to a loan move to Bolton.

The week will be used to continue to prepare the squad and hopefully integrate any potential new signing before our next friendly away to Preston next Saturday as there are no official games planned in the training camp.
