Former Coach Prepares For Newcastle Game

Former Coach Prepares For Newcastle Game

Newcastle United will step up their preparations for the premier league tomorrow when they face Hearts at Tynecastle.

On doing so, the game in Edinburgh will see us face a former coach of ours for the first time since he left to manage Hearts last year.

Ian Cathro was an upcoming coach who had worked in Spain before joining us when Steve McClaren was in charge and he was making a decent name for himself under Rafa Benitez when a surprising managerial job in Scotland was snapped up.

Speaking on Scottish TV, Cathro spoke of his time under Rafa by saying:

It will be a nice moment having worked and prepared a team to play against a team of Rafa`s.

I put more value on things like that and conversations from people who come from that level of the game than from other people who don`t as you can imagine, so it will be a pleasant moment.

It will be nice to see the players as well and congratulate then on getting the club back to where it needs to be, wish them well but get on with the game and make sure it serves its purpose for us preparing for real competition.

He(Rafa) is someone who has a tremendous level of experience and someone who wants to support people, so he is a good man.

The game tomorrow night kicks off at 7:45pm before we then head off to Ireland again for a training camp.
