Seeming Movement In Newcastle Transfers Stalemate
It's all over the media that our next target is Norwich City's young winger, Jacob Murphy.
All the big papers have something on it including The Mail, who say we're in talks and there was a report on Sky Sports the other day in which they reported that an eight million offer was refused.
Understand NUFC made an £8m bid for Jacob Murphy but Norwich have said he is not for sale. Sources say unlikely to be progress.— Craig Hope (@CraigHope_DM) July 10, 2017
As soon as Jacob Murphy was aware of interest from #nufc he asked his reps to make it happen. Clubs some way apart on valuation currently.— Pete Graves (@PeteGravesSky) July 13, 2017
Murphy who is 22 years old and has been an England international at U21 level is a boyhood Newcastle supporter and like Alan Shearer, these things can mean a lot in deciding on the next move.
If reports are true in Norwich valuing at £16m and we've bid £8m then the reports on various Norwich forums that has fans on saying they'd take £12m may be closer to what it would take because once a player decides they want away then it's generally better for all to negotiate.
Murphy featured 37 times in the championship last season and scored a fairly decent 8 goals although he is untested in the premier league.
If the interest from all sides is genuine then id expect this to be attempted to be done quickly to try to ease any frustration from boiling over on Tyneside.
