'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Spurs 'wasting their time.'

Glenn Roeder has declared what most football fans have know for sometime, that Tottenham Hotspur are a waste of time.

Speaking about Spurs supposed 7 million transfer swoop for Damian Duff, Roeder said: 'They must know they are wasting their time. Why would we sign Damien Duff in the close season and then sell him on before that season is over?
'We are trying to build a good squad here at Newcastle United and Duff is very much part of our plans.'

He added: 'We have read the reports of Spurs wanting Damien Duff over the weekend, but we have heard nothing from them.'

So Duff is staying, but it doesn't look like any new faces will be joining him at St. James`s park.

Roeder is having to face up to the fact that his main targets are most likely beyond Newcastle`s transfer budget. Roeder will have to concentrate on loan deals in an attempt to shore up his ailing side.

wasting time whatever rubbish,

Why would we be interested in Duff? He made his choice when he moved up north at the expense of staying in London and after what he said about not wanting to come to Spurs because of his Chelsea links, then that's fair enough. Plus, the fact he is currently injured right now, as he has been for the last two seasons already! No point splashing out 7million for a player who's on an average of 10 games a season!

wye aye lad wye aye......no jordies gonna comment then?

what a load of *****e! Why we would want a player that spends half the season on the treatmnt table I don't know. For Duff read Darren' sicknote' Anderton. The day he turned us down and took the over inflated wage packet you lot offered him was a blessing in disguise. Our left flank wouldn't be in a better position than it was before!!!

Will Stevens, not the sharpest tool in the box are you, some idiot talks bull***** in a Newspaper, and you and your IDIOT of a manager actually believe it Dohhh. Then you try to call Spurs a waste of time, Oh dear lets talk about time shall we, 1955 the last "time" Newcastle won a Domestic Trophy LOL Or 1969 the last "time" Newcastle won any Trophy LOL. Spurs have "ONLY managed 13 Trophies "since 1955 Including 3 European ones, and you have the front to try take the ***** out of Spurs !!!!!

How sad is Roeder - thought he'd have more class about him than that. The press dream up a story about Duff being unsettled and that Spurs are trying to sign him. Roeder's response is to make a public statement about Spurs. The guy needs to get a little bit more managerial experience and deal with the gutter press in the way they deserve - ignore them. He has lowered himself to their level in doing what he did and at the same time created a potential issue between the 2 clubs. What an idiot!!!!

new caslte are far better than the little spuds they have great fan base which i dont think the little suckers spuds have Spurs have the 4th biggest fanbase (FA report) in the UK you muppet! Far bigger than the barcodes!
its quiet at the lib
What a load of *********! Why would we want to pay 7m and 70,000 a week to a guy who is approaching the last few yrs of his career and is constantly injured? He was a quality player and he can still produce on his day, but for that money he is not worth it! He is not reliable in terms of injuries, which is OK at Newcastle with N'Zogbia to cover (how long will he be happy at being number 2) but for us we need some1 who can provide some consistency out there and Duff aint it! Press just stirring ***** and I agree with the guy above, Roeder really should have more class and rise above it, unless he is now actually regretting buying him and interested in moving him on and has manipulated the story to hope for a reaction from us! Newcastle have a lot of revenue but it has to end somewhere, there are only so many bramble's, luque's, boumsong's etc that 1 club can take!
JEFE
lol funny story this one, you dont want to sell him and spurs dont want to buy him, wheres the story come from? Look at his agent.

why does glen roeder need to comment on abolute crap. keep him. and the rest of your wasters. if we win one of the 3 cups were still in. we will show it to you. just so you know what ones like.
jol ie good
title says it all "spurs wasting their time" you could apply that to everything they do HAHAHA
PUREGOLD
Ways to liven up a dull winter's evening. 1) Write a story critical of Spurs. 2) Wait for the usual bunch of sub- literate idiots to show off. 3) Laugh at them. Well done lads, just the pathetic reaction that was expected.

And nice to see Glen has not lost his sense of humour when commenting on Martin Oneill
