Scott Parker - Any Regrets?

Scott Parker returns from his one-match ban to face the side who started his career. The midfielder left the Valley for a price of £10million to Chelsea in January 2004. It was a move which did not sit well with Curbishley at the time, losing such a key man, but all that is now very much water under the bridge for the Addicks boss.

Curbishley: 'When he left us it was a big thing and it was acrimonious at the time. We were fourth in the league, and it was something which we did not want to happen, because we were jogging along nicely. But we are all big boys and it has all gone now. I spoke to Scotty soon afterwards and have spoken to him since. We have not got a problem.

'I would like to think now he has got himself playing regularly that he will go on to fulfil everything he wants to do and show what a good player he is.
We have got nothing but good things to say about Scott. It was just a bit difficult at the time, for everybody concerned.

'When we see him at St James' Park, he will be as welcome in our dressing room as any other ex-player has been, and I would like to think when he comes back to The Valley, he gets the reception he should get because whenever he played for us, he gave everything.'
