Benitez Answers Back
Rafa Benitez has added to all the paper talk about Michael Owen's return to Anfield ... some day ... by saying there is a chance he could move for the former Liverpool player. And with Owen having that infamous clause in his contract, could it be sooner rather than later?
When asked about resigning Owen in the future the Liverpool boss said: ''Yes, I could see him returning to Liverpool one day. That could happen. Why not? He's a top-class player and you are always interested in players like that.'
Whether or not the comments should be taken seriously is debatable. It is no secret that Benitez tried and failed to re-sign Owen from Real Madrid in the summer, but how serious was he?
