'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Robert To Return To Toon?

Will Laurent Robert return to Newcastle in the summer, or will Harry Redknapp offer him a future at Portsmouth? It all went tits up on Mackemland earlier in the season when the Frenchman stormed out of the Stadium of Light when he was told he was dropped. But Redknapp is agonising over whether to recall Robert for Portsmouth“s relegation battle against West Brom at Fratton Park this weekend.

The Frenchman has toed the line under his new boss and Redknapp needs the £8.5million Newcastle winger“s creative influence to boost the side“s paltry tally of three home goals.

Redknapp: 'He“s a real talent. I“ve had no problems with him since I“ve been back. People say he“s up for it now and wants to prove a point to me and play. And if he does that then great.'
