Shay Given say Newcastle's fans should be patient with Damien Duff because they haven't yet seen what the Irish international is capable of.
Given: 'I suppose they (the fans) are to see the best of him, Damien would admit that himself. He is still trying to find his feet, but he's a fantastic player. We all know how good he is.
'They have seen glimpses, but on a regular basis, they would like to see a bit more. He is working hard to improve on his game and show them what we all know he is capable of doing.
'He has not been helped by the fact he has played in a few different positions - up front, left wing, left back, right wing. Maybe he is trying to find the best position he feels comfortable in. Being moved about so much, he has probably struggled to get into the flow of the game.'
