Carr Is Not Going Anywhere

Carr Is Not Going Anywhere

According to reports in the Irish press: 'Stephen Carr’s future at Newcastle United is looking increasingly uncertain, with manager Graeme Souness said to be considering offloading the injury-prone former Republic of Ireland international in the January transfer window.

'The 29-year-old Dubliner, who retired from international football in October, has been out of action for the past seven weeks after undergoing a hernia operation. In his absence, youngster Peter Ramage has emerged as a full back of real quality, winning the Man of the Match award in a surprise victory over Arsenal on Saturday evening.

'Carr – who has failed to win over the doubters since his £2m move from Spurs 18 months ago – as a candidate for the exit-door in the New Year.'

We can put this story in the bin and say Souness is set to sign a left-back in the January sales, but has no intention of selling Carr. Full stop!
