'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Freddy: 'You Won't Get Me Out!'

Newcastle fans have been warned by the man himself, they are wasting their time calling for the head of Freddy Shepherd. 'I'm staying at this club', says the Toon chairman.

Shepherd insists he will not quit the club, no matter what. The fans organised a demonstration outside of the St James' Park reception following the defeat by Sheffield United. A result that takes the club into the relegation zone.

Shepherd (talking to the Evening Chronicle): 'Right now it would seem I am the only one prepared to do this job and it is one I will continue to do to the very best of my ability and with the best interests of the club at heart.

'There is no doubt we are in a situation which needs sorting out and sorting out quickly. None of us can be happy at the position Newcastle United find themselves in right now and it is up to everyone involved to get us out of it.

'We have to do better and that means everyone pulling together for the good of the club to work through what are undeniably tough times.

'We have been down this road before, and changing the manager is not always the answer. I think it is time the players are reminded just who they are playing for.'

Not the chairman or the managers fault that you have NO strikers. The players passion was OBVIOUSLY lacking on saturday though!!

seems like most of the club is in a state of turmoil throughout all areas.. something will have to change and pretty quickly if it is to move forward ... the CCC is a looming...

Of course it's the Chairman's fault that we have no strikers -- he is the one that sanctions the transfers, after all.

love the club but not the gobby supporters, I am sure that it will turn around but Roeder has to go, he's a nice guy but nice guys don't generally make good managers.
Cravens
get shephard out, why sanction a move for a 10million pound striker wen its perfectly clear we need defenders, this should have been our first area to strengthen, get rid of roeder to, he insists on playing bramble wen ne1 with half a brain can see taylor should be first choice centre back
