NUFC In Bas Dost Link

According to The Sunday People, Newcastle have made an enquiry as to availability of Dutch striker Bas Dost.

The Dutchman has been rumoured to maybe being surplas to requirement at Wolsfburg after the German club bought former Arsenal striker Nicolas Bendtner with the media putting 2 and 2 together to include us as we are a striker short.

According to the media, we have had a long standing interest in the tall striker for a while but with an average of a goal in 3 and a half games for all clubs apart from Heerenveen, which was a goal every 1 and a quarter. He's not the big experienced name we've all craved for.

Regardless, it's reported that Alan Pardew wants him at a price of around £8 million to spearhead the attack and would expect a better strike rate than his 12 goals in 41 games for his current club.

Just how newspapers can one day have stories like this the day after reporting that Alan Pardew says we have no more room for players is beyond me but with the club seemingly shifting the transfer train from France to Holland, this may have legs.
