Tiote Sale Would Be No Surprise

Tiote Sale Would Be No Surprise

Don't get me wrong, I know ive been negative around the club I love for a while now but it has substance. Im not happy with the direction the club is going.

It will come as no surprise that im gonna be negative again due to a story that surfaced earlier today. If true then it is totally in line with my expectations and yet further evidence that the fans that laud up the incomings need to look at the bigger picture to hide their fickleness.

The story that Im talking about is Cheick Tiote and his seeming need to quit and move to pastures new.

Ive always thought we bought one too many midfielders and had an inkling that Moussa Sissoko would be sacrificed on the back of his impressive performances for France but with Tiote having a supposed hamstring injury, this could be a smokescreen for a strike akin to the Yohan Cabye saga that arose due to a move breaking down last Summer. We just don't know.

Tiote's stock has fallen slightly in this past year and a bit when teams like Man City, Man United and Chelsea were being mentioned, it's now Russians and unnamed German and Spanish clubs.

With three years left on his contract though, it would still take a large fee to get him although I reckon Ashley would sell for £10 million.

Regardless of any deal, we have still to have a net spend this Summer and don't need the money.
