Forest Two Complete And Leave

Newcastle United eventually confirmed the deals that have been discussed in the media all week with the signings of Jamaal Lacelles and Karl Darlow from Nottingham Forest.

Whilst the transfer fee is officially undisclosed, Nottingham Forest manager Stuart Pearce made it clear a few days ago that the price involved in getting these was lower than he would accept.

A speculated combined fee of £7 million is believed to be the bargain price but the fact that they are to be loaned straight back to their previous club and we pay their wages, a canny bit of business for Forest as well.

The two players are believed to have signed seven year deals, which would fit in with the usual six year NUFC playing years ones that our other players have signed with the first year of their deal being spent back on loan.

Speaking on the official NUFC website, Central defender, Lascelles was quoted as saying:

As soon as I found out about the move I was over the moon.

It's a huge step up for me. Newcastle are a club with a massive fanbase, a big history and an unbelievable stadium.

Goalkeeper Karl Darlow added:

I'm delighted for it all to be sorted and I can't wait to get started here at Newcastle,

The loan back is going to be another year but it gives me time to develop my game further before I return. I'm looking forward to the future.
