Imminent Signings Causing A Storm

Former Newcastle player and current Nottingham Forest manager, Stuart Pearce, has hit out at the deal that looks like bringing Jamaal Lascelles and Karl Darlow to Tyneside.

He is angry that they are being sold against his wishes.

The deals are expected to be announced very soon but the fact that they are to be loaned back to Forest for the rest of the season may have sweetened Pearce's mood a tad.

The price for the two players has been rumoured to be anything from 5 million up to around 7 million, which Pearce isn't happy about.

Speaking to local press in the Midlands he said amongst his quotes:

We had an offer from Newcastle, that I was made aware of last week, in regards to the two players going there.

I thought I could push their value up and that they would be worth more in the long run.

The first I heard today about things was when Jamaal Lascelles came in and told me that he had a medical at 2pm at Newcastle.

Clarification is still awaited from Newcastle.
