Could NUFC Be Tempted Into Enemy Territory Again?

In what is generally a subject of wishful thinking or what id like to class as giving the answer '4' before then producing a question that fits it, today saw yet another transfer rumour surrounding our beloved Newcastle United.

This one was that Conor Wickham could be following Jack Colback from the contaminated air of Wearside, although all of their players live in Newcastle, over to the more cleanly Tyneside environment.

Wickham is a name that we've been linked with in the past and has supposedly been on Alan Pardew's radar at a previous club but is this a case of our club meeting the criteria of certain aspects of the player rather than their being any substance in it?

Yes, everyone knows we need at least another striker and one that has premier league experience a bonus.

It's common knowledge that we have a policy of buying young players to sell on at a profit and at only 21, Wickham would fit the parameters and at a fee of supposedly 6 million, would almost certainly see that price double in a short period of time if he hits the ground running, so you can see the appeal.

Wickham is in the final year of his contract and has publicly been told that if he doesn't sign a new one then he's going to be sold.
