Oh The Irony Pardew

In a statement as ironic they come, Alan Pardew spoke to the media and said that Hatem Ben Arfa isn`t producing the required professionalism and commitment to play for Newcastle United.

This coming from a bloke who's list of unprofessional acts beggars believe as to why he's still employed here but what the heck.

For all of Ben Arfa's 'misdemeanours', he's been fined for being overweight, although Ben Arfa's camp denies this plus been frozen out for various games and training sessions in moves just out the downright petty camp.

Pardew just shows he has an ego problem when dealing with certain players and can't provide the width that he's had on more than one occasion for his stepping out of line.

Pardew says Ben Arfa must show more commitment to the club if he is to regain his place, whatever that means, although at a guess id say it's because Ben Arfa wants to attack and Pardew just wants him to help out in defence.

We've seen it on many occasions due to Pardew's lack of tactical nouse that as soon as we go a goal in front or are leading into the second half, his instinct is to hold onto what we have, rather than add to it by using the attack. A new manager would solve this problem but not under Ashley's money seeking tenure.

Regardless, Pardew said to BBC Newcastle:

It`s a simple situation,

We have a professionalism
(although Pardew musn't include himself in that analysis) and a level of commitment to our work that he needs to fall into and until he falls into that he won`t be part of the first team.

He isn`t at the moment and he`s injured today, ironically, but he`s still part of the club.

Pardew served his punishment for his unprofessionalism, are you suggesting Ben Arfa get away with his, or are you rejecting he was unprofessional in the first place? Or is this just a negative pre-season article for the sake of it in contrast to the positive things happening at Newcastle?

Maybe an apology to his team mates might help ?

Positive things happening. We've lost our three best players since the start of last season and replaced them with unproven PL players and a ginger bloke who couldn't get into a side fighting relegation for the majority of last season. Oh, how the sheep are easily fooled. The fat slug must be laughing his cap off with an extra 30m TV money stashed in his back pocket.

The sheep ARE easily fooled. Ashley could turn a stand into a Crap Direct, change the colours into red, white and blue stripes, abuse even more club legends but it would be alright if he spent part of the cash he had recouped through the year.

Has it been stated exactly what Ben Arfa's unprofessionalism or even his injury actually is ? It looks to me like he's turned up considerably slimmer than last season. Let's call this what it is a blatant tactic from Ashley and Pardew to besmirch a player so that when he's sold there's bit less of a rumble from the support. It's happened numerous times before ( Carroll and Cabaye as examples) and the inevitable "he wanted to leave there was very little we could do to keep him" will be trotted out (refusing the bid never occurs to the hierarchy here for some reason) .

Remind me never to invite you guys for a pint, I'd be suicidal by the second mouthful! The article was about Ben Arfa and Pardew, not Mike Ashley.
