Toon v Blades - Post War History

Toon v Blades - Post War History

United play Sheffield United on Saturday for only their second visit to St James' Park in the Premiership.

That was Newcastle's first season in the Premiership, and they romped to a 4-0 win, with goals from Andy Cole, a brace from Peter Beardsley, and an own goal from Ward.

Perhaps the most important game between the two was the FA semi-final at Old Trafford in 1997/8 when Alan Shearer scored the goal that took us to Wembley to play Arsenal.
