'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Yet More Talk but Still No Real Action

Aside from the usual transfer target suspects, there has been a regular theme amongst Newcastle speculation and that is we are desperately short of strikers.

Talk has been centred around the need to replace the January departed Yohan Cabaye but without goals in a team, you're destined for a long hard slog and probable relegation.

Forgetting the Spanish kid we signed for a pittance the other week, we are short of at least three first team candidates with Loic Remy ending his loan as well as Luuk de Jong, the release of the Shola Ameobi having an 'about time' feel to it, not to mention the kids we have in back up being untested or not good enough.

Id say it's at emergency level.

It may be the World Cup and club's not doing business era but time is of the essence and whatever it costs has to be a feeling that is inbred in our officials instead of trying to trouser as much loot as they can because this year will be the year where they fall flat on their face.

We wait as always for developments.
