Defeat In Italy Not End Of The World

Considering the striker problems that Glenn Roeder has, and facing reality and understanding that Palermo are starting to be a mighty force in Italian football, if Newcastle come away with ANYTHING on Thursday it will be an achievement.

Having pocketed three points against Fenerbahce, another three points just about guarantees qualification to the next stage.

Three clubs go forward, and it would take an amazing string of results for the side with six points NOT to go into the draw for the next round.

Obviously Roeder must hope to pick up points on his travels, but a win against Celta Vigo at St James' is the key.
