'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Lesser of Two Evils

Freddie Shepherd did an interview in the Newcastle Chronicle in which he stated that you can never say never in regards to becoming part of NUFC again.

We've had the Shepherd v Ashley threads on our forum in which people said that Shepherd was worse. I disagree. This is the worst era we've ever had in our history.

With no ambition and no future under Ashley as a football club in our present form.

We're just a club that wants to stagnate whilst creaming the profits and then hiding them via Ashley's other businesses to make it look like we're ticking over.

We employ puppets to speak and try to con the fans as well.

It's also caused a massive division amongst the fanbase with many abusing the whole point of someone being a loyal fan. Practically unheard of in football.

Im not even gonna mention the many, many mistakes made here under Ashley's tenure as we'd be here all day.

I agree that two wrongs don't make a right in regards to Shepherd and Ashley but this crap that we would have went bust under Shepherd would have been just that, crap, but even if true, it would have been a lot better than watching the club being stripped alive of every decent thing it ever had.

At least we signed players in the Shepherd days, tried to do what's best for the club and city in regards to expanding and never attached cheap tat to the club.

The odd million syphoned off by the Shepherd family was a small price to pay in that we at least still had a club.

We don't at present.

Id have him back in a heartbeat.

That's a good point.. Up until recently I was always of the mind to think that we were headed for a crash under Shepherd, but nowadays I'm with you, I'd rather have a few years like Leeds United and then die in flames than just fester and waste away like we are now!
