'If It's Football, It's Vital'

World Cup Draw

England were first out of the bowl, and with Germany already in Group A, England were put into Group B, and manager Sven-Goran Eriksson immediately knew they would be playing their trio of matches in the cities of Frankfurt, Nuremberg and Cologne.

Their opponents will be Paraguay, Trinidad and Tobago and Eriksson's home country Sweden. To add to Sven's frustration, England have not beaten the Swedes in the last 11 matches stretching back 37 years. The two teams last met in the group stages in a competitive fixture in Japan four years ago, with the outcome on that occasion a 1-1 draw.

Should England reach the last 16 they will face either the winners or runners up from Group A, comprising the Germans, Costa Rica, yes Poland, or Ecuador.

The big kick-off will be on June 9, 2006 in Munich.
