Gosling £30k Out Of Pocket
As reported earlier in the month, midfielder Dan Gosling got himself in bother with the footballing authorities after breaching betting rules.
Today saw the conclusion of the saga with Gosling bagging a 30 grand fine by the F.A.
To his credit the 24 year old admitted a misconduct charge quickly, which may have resulted in him getting a lighter sentence.
Gosling's breach of betting rules relates to Rule E8(b) of the FA's regulations.
In the handbook, it states that a player 'shall not bet, either directly or indirectly' on matches involving themselves or their team - or a competition they play in or have played in.
Gosling cited boredom as a reason for the betting spree and is another lesson to those that money can cause just as many problems as solve.
