Gets No Better For Our Loanees Either

Gets No Better For Our Loanees Either

Away from the doom and gloom on Tyneside, we have a fair few players out on loan for one reason or another.

Conor Newton and Adam Campbell at St Mirren
Curtis Good at Dundee United
Jonas Gutierrez at Norwich
Haris Vuckic and James Tavernier at Rotherham
Mehdi Abeid at Panathinaikos
Romain Amalfitano at Dijon
and Shane Ferguson at Birmingham City

The basic reason for a loan is to get playing time that you can't get at your current club or just develop at a lower level to prepare you for the demands of top league football.

However, Only Curtis Good (who scored in his last game), James Tavernier and Conor Newton played full games recently.

Adam Campbell got 15 minutes worth of Scottish premier football and Haris Vuckic 20 in league one. Hardly good preparation.

yes Mehdi Abeid managed 85 minutes but that was in the Greek Super League.

The rest of our loan men,got sweet FA, through injury or other with Shane Ferguson in particular, playing for Birmingham reserves.

What's that about?
