So Where Does That Leave The Good Ship Toon-Tanic?

The life of a Newcastle fan could be described as someone floating in the ocean.

Sometimes the waters are calm, whilst at others we get the stormiest of seas. We know we may not be floating on the best cruise liner there is but it's a decent ship that will have envious eyes cast on her from many and it's soemthing that we wouldn't change for the world.

However though, there has been times where we've encountered various dangers that lurk on our journey and have avoided shipwreck on numerous occasions.

Occasions that had Messr's Westwood, McKeag and Shepherd at the helm.

More recently though, we got a new captain on board, a captain that wore the uniform with pride, seemingly, and one that wanted to accustom himself with his passengers.

The problem with this though, was that he took his eye off the radar and hit a massive iceberg and we've been slowly sinking ever since, hitting various other obstacles on our way.

Sabotage or not. Whichever way the wheel has been turned and whatever measures have been taken to fill the gaping hole in the hull, it's not quite been good enough and we've still been slipping further into the drink.

Emergency measures like the deploying of a lifeboat that would describe the departure of Joe Kinnear are false dawns. People still need to get off.

We need a miracle under this captain, only a sale of the ship and a good investment can save us now.

If United are to be equated with a ship then the obvious candidate would be that one that steamer in 'Around the world in 80 days' that Phileas Fogg stripped and fed to its own boiler.
