Boro Defender Hits Out At Magpies

Freddy Shepherd and Glenn Roeder are under fire this morning following that 1-0 defeat in ICI City. And it is made even worse by the admission from Middlesbrough defender Robert Huth that he was RIGHT to chose Boro over Newcastle United in August when both sides went head-to-head for his signature.

Boro confused us all when they pulled out of a £5m move for Huth when he supposedly failed a medical, but signed him on deadline day for £6m when Newcastle became involved.

Huth (talking to The People): 'I saw them as more progressive from the start. That view has not changed.

'There was an interest from Newcastle towards the end. But I agreed a deal with Boro, everything was done. There wasn't a situation where I should say no to Boro. They were absolutely brilliant through the World Cup and the injury.

'I would rather stick to my word and come to Middlesbrough than upset people. It is the right move, I am loving it up here. I spoke to Geremi, he used to be here. Geremi only had good words.'
