Pavel On Stand-By

Pavel On Stand-By

Goalkeeper Steve Harper was 'patched up and sent out to play' on Thursday and was in obvious difficulty as Peter Ramage took all the United goal-kicks. But he hopes to make the team for Sunday's visit to Smog City, despite his troublesome groin injury.

Midfielder Emre was another struggling from the kick-off, and he too could have to wait until the last minute before deciding whether to play. Both started Thursday night's 1-0 UEFA Cup victory over Fenerbahce despite carrying injuries, but Emre was taken off just after half-time.

However, Pavel Srnicek is now available and ready to put on the gloves should Harper miss out. Like Pav, Giuseppe Rossi was ineligible for the European game, but can now be considered.

Celestine Babayaro could come into contention after completing a three-match ban.
