'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Duff 'No Regrets'

Damien Duff took the gamble to leave Premiership champions Chelsea for regular football on Tyneside, and despite Chelsea's great start and Newcastle's struggle, he insists he was right to quit London.



The Magpies paid 5 million for the Republic of Ireland international, and the 27-year-old sees no reason why he would want to leave the club. He has already hailed manager Glenn Roeder 'as good as Jose Mourinho'.

Duff: 'I look at Chelsea and I know I was 100 percent right to leave.
I was an emotional wreck and in bits crying when I left Chelsea, but I don't miss it now. I'm loving it here now, I know I made the right decision. That's me done. I love the place already and just want to help get the team going in the right direction and hopefully win things.

'I'm enjoying it here, it's a totally different way of life from London. The passion is unbelievable, they are just the most passionate fans in England, they have probably been let down at times, but the expectations are so high.

'Obviously we are not going to be championship contenders this year, but hopefully in the next couple of years we will be. That's why I came here, it is a special place to play.'

I think he maded the right choice , just hope a few others follow by leaving chelsea eg SWP for starters !!! and Wayne Bridge , england class players that need regular football !
