Shearer No Nearer Toon Job

Freddy Shepherd offered Alan Shearer the Newcastle manager's job after Sir Bobby was given the axe, AND when Graeme Souness was given his P45.

If, God forbid, Glenn Roeder fails in future months ... don't expect the GOALden Boy to suddenly answer the call.

He has a contract with the BBC for three years, and is giving motivational speeches in New Zealand this week.

Shearer: 'I really couldn't tell you whether, when, where, if I go back into it. I do love the game. I love watching it. I loved playing it. So maybe one day I will give it a crack.'
