Spurs Ahead Of Toon In Betting!

Newcastle have fared well in their last two forays in the UEFA Cup, reaching the semi-finals in 2004. They went down 2-0 on aggregate to Didier Drogba's Marseille, while Sporting Lisbon ended their dreams in the quarter-finals a year later as a 2-0 aggregate lead dissolved into a 4-2 defeat.

Bookmakers Ladbrokes make Roeder's side 1/3 to qualify from the group stage - the top three teams in each group will go through to the last 32 along with the eight third-placed teams from the Champions league.

However, at 20/1 to win the trophy, Spurs are ahead of them in the betting at 10/1. Holders Sevilla are favourites at 5/1.

Good luck to all british clubs in europe, but I fancy us above any of the rest, just due to size of our squad! Quality and Quantity = success
Shropshire Yid
think you have the hardest groupo to get out of but I can see all teh brits coming through this group ok
dazednconfuzed
What has happened to your "quality and quantity" in the premiership then Shropshire?? Although you did squeeze past the second best team in Prague so I can see where you are coming from.
hatespur
i think the Toon will qualify but its a very tough group - Palermo the team to watch I think.
The Tailor
Glad we're not in one of the group Gs - they look tough...
skins
i Think the fact that we were the 5th placed team in the prem last season might be some indication of quality.
jmd
Good luck toon btw hope we meet up in the final.
jmd
although i think newcastle have a good attack, their defence is a mess, and the fact that given is out for a month isnt going to help that factor

You lot of barcodes make me laugh, what have you numpties ever won, you think its good if you reach a semi final but whats in your trophy cabinet? I am not a Spurs supporter but can see that they have a fantstic history and can see the glory days returning for them but not you lot, I think that you are obsessed ith Tottenham! get over it.
Cravens
Spot on Cravens, Spurs have Won 13 (THIRTEEN) Trophies Including THREE European ones since Newcastle last Won a Domestic Trophy yet they always try unsuccessfully to belittle us, it just makes us laugh, Spurs have been crap for about 15 years but at least we have Won TWO trophies during one of the worst periods of our history. What can most Newcastle fans remember, apart from being nearly winners.
sumpo
I think you both have hard draws, only Blackburn can be happy from Britain.

Spurs should be more favourite to win than the geordies coz they ain't one a thing for 500 years or so!
