Roeder Searches For Assistant

Does anyone know the real reason Newcastle old boy Tommy Craig walked away from the Reserve team job a couple of weeks ago? If so, could you drop us a line?

Not only was that a bolt out of the blue for those who follow the Reserve side, but Newcastle United boss Glenn Roeder must rebuild his backroom team after also losing newly-appointed assistant manager Kevin Bond.

While Lee Clark has taken on a coaching role with the Reserves, we wonder if that was Roeder's plans right from the moment he said in the summer that Clark 'has a great future at this club as coach'.

As for Bond ... that was totally out of his hands. But one thing is certain, the manager is looking for a top class right-hand man to fill his boots. And many would love to see Alan Shearer say 'yes' to the job.
