Toon's Best Chance Of Glory

Toon's Best Chance Of Glory

I think it goes without saying we can rule out the Premiership title this season, but with a little bit of luck, the Carling Cup could be 'just up wor street'!

We enter at the third round, thanks to our involvement in Europe, and Pompey will come calling.

Wycombe v Doncaster
Sheffield United v Birmingham
Leicester v Aston Villa
Watford v Hull
Leeds v Southend
Chesterfield v West Ham
Notts County v Southampton
Newcastle v Portsmouth
Charlton v Bolton
Liverpool v Reading
West Brom v Arsenal
Port Vale v Norwich
Everton v Luton
MK Dons v Tottenham
Crewe v Manchester United
Blackburn v Chelsea

Matches to be played week beginning October 23.

We have only appeared in the final once, exactly 30 years ago when we lost to Manchester City at Wembley 2-1.

Put your money on a Toon win, because our days of glory could be just around the corner. (* well ... Wales to be exact!)

Lets see how we get on against Pompey first! They have a really good defence, spurred on by that England international centre half Campbell who (apparently) was desperate to come here but wasn't considered good enough for us as he was too old for Roeder, not like the young Sibierski he signed on the last day of the transfer window..........
