Win or Bust
That's plainly and simply how this afternoon's game against Queens Park Rangers should be addressed.
Attack from the start, go for the throat, take no mercy and many other anecdotes.
However, we've not been set up like that under any of Alan Pardew's tactics and that's what causes the flak from the fans.
We may never have won any trophies under Kevin Keegan or the late Sir Bobby Robson but the art of trying, more than made up for it and gives a manager the extra breathing space to enjoy his job more.
Pardew however has just stubbornly decided on a boring way of trying to play football with the results deservedly matching the utter dross of it.
That has to change today where a win GUARANTEES premier league football for another year or in Mike Ashley's eyes GUARANTEES an extra £45 million or so extra from what we would earn for being in the league below. That's before corporate costs come into or the loss of a fair few supporters, sick of the utter ineptness of those in charge of us.
A squad that will include the likes of Coloccini, Debuchy, Yanga-Mbiwa, Santon, Tiote, Cabaye, Ben Arfa and Cisse must surely win this played under the right formation of a 4-3-3 but we'll see.
I just hope Pardew isn't playing his daft usual tactics of hoof-ball or is it a game determined for us to lose deliberately?, because that would explain a fair bit.
That can keep for now as there's been too much pointing fingers recently, admittedly from the manager mostly but a win can eradicate a lot and allow us to build again.
