Shearer STILL The Master!
As we have found so often, a player leaves St James' Park, then sets his new club alight. In this case, it's six-goals-in-eight-games Michael Chopra, who has helped the Welsh club rise to the top of the Championship.
Chopra: 'These are the kind of finishing skills I worked on at Newcastle and even in training sessions you had no better person to learn from up there than Alan Shearer.
'He scored about 30 goals in 63 games for England which is an unbelievable record and if I achieve half of what he achieved, I'll be a very happy man.'
Chopra left Newcastle with a parting shot at the big earners: 'It upset me seeing Patrick Kluivert and Albert Luque picked ahead of me, when I didn't believe they had any passion in the club.' Something I'm sure the Toon Army would agree with.
