Harper Faces Kop Experience

Harper Faces Kop Experience

With Shay Given still in hospital, Steve Harper will make his first Premiership start for Newcastle in almost 18 months at Liverpool on Wednesday night.

Titus Bramble (knee and ankle), Steven Taylor (foot) and Shola Ameobi (hip) are doubts, while Nolberto Solano (hamstring) and Alan O'Brien (groin) are out.

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez could stick with the same side that lost at Chelsea on Sunday, keeping skipper Steven Gerrard on the left. Gerrard said he would only be happy playing out wide 'as long as we are winning'. And Liverpool are NOT winning.

John Arne Riise (ankle) and Harry Kewell (groin) are both still missing as the Reds look to maintain an unbeaten home league record against Newcastle which dates back to 1994.
