Fergie Gets The Blues

Newcastle United defender, Shane Ferguson has joined Birmingham City on loan.

The 21 year old, Northern Ireland international will join a familiar face there in former magpie midfielder, Lee Clark, who is the manager of the Brummie club.

An exciting player is young Fergie but we've all said that he could benefit from plying his trade in the lower leagues, not to mention that I feel that he's unsure where his best position is, be it left back, left wing or wing back.

Hopefully this loan stint can see him get more minutes under his belt competitively, which in turn can strengthen which position he wants to play and we get a player that can challenge the likes of Santon, Anita or Jonas on the left hand side as the potential is there, it just needs to be nurtured.

His loan lasts until the end of March up till now and we'll watch his development as always.
