Parker was involved in the tackle that saw Bullard's knee-cap twisted around his leg, but no-one suggests the Newcastle player was to blame.
It was thought there was no bone damage but an MRI investigation shows it will be at eight months before he returns to action.
Fulham report: 'The club can confirm that Jimmy has sustained a serious injury to his right knee and will undergo surgery as soon as possible. He will then require a lengthy period of rehabilitation and the club will report further progress as soon as there are any developments.
