'If It's Football, It's Vital'

No More NUFC Transfer Movement?

The Winter transfer market's opening hours stand at three days and counting but the window is shut according to those with close NUFC links.

A transfer window that has been called illegal, unnecessary and unfair by many including Arsene Wenger but maybe that's a case of sour grapes, I don't know.

We've done well by our recent standards with five additions in Matheiu Debuchy, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, Massadio Haidara, Yoan Gouffran and Moussa Sissoko, the fact that they are all foreign or French in this case, a slight negative but it may help them to gel a bit quicker as there's no added communication battle to contend with in a strange country.

In these final three days, the main attention turns to balancing the books by many skeptic Toon fans, mentally scarred by previous sales at the last minute but personally, i think the impending TV deal will dictate things that bit more than they normally would as a nice little profit for a player just pales into insignificance in comparison to an increase of thirty million pounds minimum per season just for being in this league.

It's this scenario that has to see fringe players leave only and the list of these that either need to be shipped out for football reasons or just because we don't need them anymore includes the likes of Nile Ranger, Xisco, Dan Gosling, Shane Ferguson, James Tavernier and a few more.

Whatever happens in the final eighty four hours, it will contain the odd surprise but more likely that the St James' Park steps will be spared the sight of David Craig spouting the usual hot air, although this is NUFC and nothing will be a surprise.
