Griffin Homeward Bound
Griffin began his career at Stoke ten years ago as a 17 year old, and was a highly rated left-back when he joined the Magpies in 1998. Capped at Under-21 level for England, but he never progressed at Newcastle.
Stoke manager Chris Kamara sold him to Newcastle United for £1.5 million but he lost his way and suffered through injury injury problems. He was even injured on his league debut in February 1998 against West Ham and only made four appearances that season.
He eventually ended up signing for Portsmouth in May 2004 and featured 21 times for them last season.
