'If It's Football, It's Vital'

NUFC - What's The Story, Dinner Time Glory?

The corresponding fixture in May just gone, was one of those real exciting ones where we had the chance to actually achieve something, so a lot was riding on the game with the chance of third place very much up for grabs.

Fast forward seven months and the need for three points is probably greater now plus the prospect of third place very real again.

THIRD BOTTOM.

Anyway, daft results happen in football and if we play as a team then it could happen today in this dinner time feast.

Ive chosen Cheik Tiote as the main man today because if we get a performance from him, ive got an inkling we can get something here.

We need the defence to be concentrated, committed and solid, the midfield to put their foot on the ball and pass for once with the strikers composed enough to take any chance that comes along.

We haven't beaten them at St James' since the 2005/6 season and that includes the times when they were crap, so we owe them one.

Overall though, the record here isn't too bad in the premier league era.

6 wins, 2 draws and 5 defeats.

We've not been playing badly of late and games like this give the players a chance to prove that they're not as bad as the league table suggests.

We're a wounded animal and they're always dangerous. Hopefully we still have enough life left in us to finish off our prey.
