Ashley - Strangling The Life Out Of NUFC

Whilst sitting in my usual seat at the match on Monday, my thoughts wondered towards the scenario or the feeling of how flat it feels to follow my club.

From being brought up on my heart skipping a beat just on catching a glimpse of the floodlights whilst passing the ground or the anticipation of the players coming out of the tunnel at a match, to the realism that we're being shafted over by people who just don't have a clue what it feels like to have something so important dictate your feelings, day after day.

That something, as Kevin Keegan once said, if bottled, could be sold and would be like printing money.

PASSION.

It's dwindling.

You just need to look around any Newcastle forum or be a part of the match day atmosphere and it's as if the life has been strangled out of many of the people. All scarred by the antics of how we are run now by people who only care what digits they get on a financial report.

Not worried in the slightest that our greatest commodity is being eroded away by them.

What makes the club what it is or has been, is the good name of our supporters but many tactics have been used to silence it.

From disbanding the level 7 lot or making daft decisions to limit the away support to loyalty points or small allocation numbers. This all has a bearing on our future and very soon we will be 'just another club'.

Daft songs about owners 'getting out of our club' may be the reason for any stupid business decision but a paying public is entitled to an opinion, especially if they are deeply hurt.

Some may not be worried but I see the signs. The passion has gone and the club needs to act fast to retrieve it.
