Shola Ameobi faces a late fitness test ahead of Newcastle's St James' Park clash with Fulham.

New boy Giuseppe Rossi is likely to start on the bench but is on stand-by pending Shola's medical.


Fulham expect to have midfielder Michael Brown fit from a knee problem on Saturday. Wayne Routledge, signed on a season loan from Tottenham, is likely to start on the bench, while Denmark midfielder Claus Jensen should be back from a calf strain.

Ahmad Elrich (knee) and Simon Elliott (calf) remain out.
