'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Marveux - The Unknown Quantity.

Sylvain Marveux joined us just over a year ago in a surprise move allegedly from the clutches of our next league opponents Liverpool.

Whilst he has suffered a few injury complaints in his time here at Gallowgate, he has also had to contend with the excellent form of the unsung Jonas Gutierrez or the genius of Hatem Ben Arfa not to mention the youngsters like Shane Ferguson or Sammy Ameobi taking their chances like a starving bird to seed, so it's no wonder he must feel like he's running down continuous dead ends.

However, today, Alan Pardew gave him a reminder that he isn't gonna be a forgotten man.

Pardew quoting The Evening Chronicle on the Sky Sports website said,'Sylvain is not out of the equation.'

'At any time he could be called upon. I have no fears or bones about putting him in.'

'He is trying to earn his place. Sammy Ameobi and Fergie (Shane Ferguson) have done well and they are both in his position. Gabby (Obertan) has also been doing well.'

Hopefully, lady luck smiles on Sylvain and he keeps injury free as he has the potential to add to our squad to give us more ammunition in the weeks ahead, where we fight on three fronts.
