Perch, Like A Fish Out Of Water.
Im not sure that Cheick Tiote even has big feet but whatever the boot size, James Perch will never be big enough to fill them.
Whilst this isn't a cheap shot to slag the lad off as he's made a massive improvement on his start here, it's a statement that a team which finished 5th top last season shouldn't have to rely on a makeshift stop gap until the regular player comes back.
Even then a team of our stature and standing should replace with quality not plug the holes with square pegs.
To top it all, Alan Pardew has been talking in the press about how good he sees Perch which is either making a mockery out of the fan's judgment or a red herring that he'll fill the role permanently, so maybe a fine case of man management?
In time, we will see what he actually meant as the transfer window is just nine weeks away.
