Villa get what they deserve eh ? I think Newcastle, when they signed Roeder, got what they deserved. You have a manager who proved yesterday that he hasn't a clue how to deal in a transfer window. He had no plan B when Viduka fell through and although it WAS his prerogative to recall Milner, you now have a *****ed off player on your hands and your strikeforce is in disarray. Martins was, lets not beat around the bush, a panic buy and Sibierski was a hilariously panicked signing aswell. If Villa want Milner in January then they will get him. But it is more likely that they will aim higher and get someone better. Frankly I'd have loved for us to get Milner yesterday as I thought he did a great job in difficult circumstances last season. He is a top professional who deserves better treatment than what he has received from Shepherd. His career will now miss this season and instead of cementing his place in a vastly improved Villa side he will sit and rot in a Newcastle side with nothing up front and barely anything at the back. Everyone's a loser in all of this, but I think Newcastle fans are beginning to realise that there might just be an idiot in charge of the 1st team. Oh and another thing - Villa certainly did get what they deserved - when Martin O'Neill joined us after snubbing your lot. Didn't do a bad job of beating your lot on Sunday either eh ? 60% possession ? Some of that needs to be in the opposition half if you're gonna do anything with it.

Agreed! They blame us for it not getting Milner, but Milner must have been told that he'd have to come back if the Viduka deal fell through - they should blame Middlesborough for backing out on selling us Viduka. Milner must be pretty annoyed too, but he must understand why we backed out in selling him once the smogs backed out, which would've left us short of manpower on the right. Villa's best player last season was, in fact, Milner, so i can't see Petrov making a huge difference and that's why the Villa fan's are so bitter and twisted about not getting him. Funny seeing them spit their dummies out and throw a tantrum though :) Their only bonus is they've now got a good manager and financial backing, so they should shut up til the January transfer window when they'll get to spend loads anyway and have no need to moan.

AWOL, the one thing I don't understand is that lets say you HAD got Viduka and we had signed Milner, you would still have been short on the right afterwards as Vid is not a like-for-like replacement. So in that sense it doesn't add up. Unless of course Milner, NZog or Nobby are being mooted for roles further forward this season which seeing how unlucky you guys are with forwards is not outside the realms of possibility.

Milner looked like he'd rather be in a Villa shirt and Nobby was as bad as I've ever seen him play. How many shots did you actually have that were meaningful ? I remember one from Duff. You were absolute crap and if I were you I'd be a little bit worried about the season ahead. Yeah we'd like to have Milner but we'll move on and get over it. We might be back for him in January and we might not be. I don't really care because I trust O'Neill to do the right thing for our club. Do you have the same faith in Roeder's ability ? I doubt it. I'd rather be a Villan right about now :)

Got what we deserve? Do you think Milner got what he deserved? Told he wasn't needed, then brought back, then attempted to offload, and only dragged back because you cant even get hold of some ageing striker? What has been said is that, this transfer window was spending old villa money. If things go to plan we will have alot more to spend in January meaning Milner, well we can pick and choose I guess. I don't expect him to be in Newcastle come February. Nice one guys, get rid of a future star player ;-).

BOF, we could play Duff there, I guess on my part it was a bad choice of words, as I should've said it would've left us short on numbers which is always our problem. Nobby rarely completes a whole game so Milner is normally his replacement. Personally, i'm just glad we didn't get Viduka as I think he's not what we need. I think we're mad to even consider selling Milner, and we've shot ourselves in the foot by making him feel unwanted. Although it was rather unprofessional to recall him like that, I still believe your anger on this should be directed at Middlesborough as they, afterall, were the ones that went back on their words about selling Viduka and therefore forced us to recall Milner.

The problem with Newcastle is that they believe their own hype as written by all the Fleet Street hacks who put you as some sort of media darling. This then gives you some odd kind of delusion of grandeur whereby you think your bigger than you are. I rank you as a very similar sized club to Coventry.

Geordie boys - What are you on about. Carr - You can't say he has improved since he left spurs. Moore - He was rejected by a few Prem clubs before he joined Newcastle. He's okay as a squad player but he's no John Terry by a long shot. Bramble - enough said. Babayaro - Overrated. Newcastle are a good club but for some reason your fans think you should be top 5. Murph, fair play, but we have them in nearly every country according to a previous count, and the point is... we're the bigger club. Maybe not the better club though, but the forthcoming season will decide that i guess. These arguments will get us all nowhere except help ruin the sportsmanship of football, it is afterall, just a game and people are getting way to upset over something so small. Wow, you didn't get Milner, but you have a brilliant manager and a loaded chairman - quit while you're ahead.

Roeder isn't the problem, I think it's more likely the ego and naivity of our chairman. However, Bernard is at least better than Baba and won't look like he needs someone to hold up a sign telling him which direction to run. Bramble just needs to sort his head out, he's too attack minded for a central defender and needs to work on that instead of trying to get up the pitch. I believe Roeder will eventually get that through to him.

I've been a Villa fan for over 40 years but have always regarded Newcastle as a top club. That was until you sacked Robson and appointed Souness. I now know why Shearer has distanced himself from Newcastle and Shepherd in particular; no doubt waiting for new owners to be in place before he takes over from the completely inept Roeder. So enjoy Europe my friends and start thinking about playing in the championship next year. Your display last Sunday was the worst that I've seen from an away side since Sunderland last season. You were absolutely clueless. No wonder Milner wants away.

If the guy that runs this site had any sense he'd block geordie boys. He epitomises what Newcastle are all about. Mr Fear you could teach them a thing or to about dignity. I wouldn't mind Newcastle doing well, I'm sick of Chelski, Arsenal and Man Ure. But you can't escape the fact that Newcastle have wasted so much money and chose bad managers. The bottom line is, Villa are on the up and nothing changes at Newcastle. Regardless of where Villa finish this year we're well structered and organised and have only good things to look forward to.

Aston Villa are the 4th most successful football club in England and in total have won 9 more major trophies than Newcastle have done (and thats not including the European super cup). I could go on but clearly any intelligent discussion would be wasted upon you, someone who types in CAPSLOCK and spells genius "GENIOUS", clearly can't comprehend somthing as basic as football. Perhaps if you moved out of Newcastle away from the hype then you would really see what a big club you really are!
