Smogs Becoming A Pain!

... rejected an approach from the Toon for Mark Viduka.

The Magpies and Boro have been battling throughout the summer over the FA's decision to let Roeder manage Newcastle despite not having the required tickets that go with the job. They have appointed Gareth Southgate on the strength of 'if Newcastle can do it ... we can do it', using United as a yardstick. Something that caused a bit of a rift between the two clubs.

Newcastle are believed to have offered James Milner, a Boro target in the past, for Viduka. But the Smogs want none of it.

Anything can happen before the transfer deadline closes, and Newcastle could revised bid. Watch this space.

Now, now, Andrew, a bit of a rift between the two clubs, surely not, after all , I was given to understand that imitation was the highest form of flattery, love or hate Roeder, he is a proven premiership manager, and should Southgate enjoy as successful a first premiership season as his Newcastle counterpart, the subject of required qualification will be as topical as last weeks tabloids. As regards Viduka, on his day he would grace any premiership team, I would be sad to see him go but we'll see what news September brings us. So let's not snipe or fight, it could be a lot worse, we could be playing in stripes of red and white.
